Rosettes (Swirls): The most common and easiest design. Hold the tip vertically just above the surface, squeeze, and move the bag in a tight circle (or ‘S’ shape) for one full rotation. Release pressure to finish.

Star Fill-in: Pipe individual stars by holding the tip vertically, squeezing until the star reaches the desired size, and quickly pulling up.

Shell Border: A traditional and elegant border. Hold the bag at a 45-degree angle. Squeeze until the shell base forms, then steadily move the bag in an arc, slowly releasing pressure to form a tapering tail. Start the next shell over the tail of the previous one.
